Welcome to the Online Academy

by Education Equals -

This is a place where you can get involved in some online learning, as part of a learning community based around the Black Families Education Support Group,  UK.

We aim to support learning at home and outside of the classroom, with ways to support families and extra-curricular learning.

Please note, this is a trial site so your feedback is very welcome.

Session next week- Sat 22nd - not tomorrow tho.

Dearest family

I hope 2022 is treating you all well so far.

Sorry that I have been out of communication for some time but I look forward to checking in next week, Sat 22nd Jan.
Personally, I am just getting back into things now and am still have a bit of planning and communications to do before starting. I aim to have some further communications and updates also before.

I hope you had a chance to look at the BF Ambassadors site, with Tonic and Hydro's animation jazzing it up.

We also need your help with this, using different ways (e.g. creative, engaging, educational, discussion, podcasting)  of taking this programme forward. The main aim is to keep up the momentum on addressing race equality in schools and in Bath & Northeast Somerset and I believe we can be creative about doing this..

I hope we can find ways that you can participate in this or other activities  in 2022.

I look forward to the long-overdue catching up with you soon.

Many Blessings

Happy New 2022 to you!

Habari Gani -  Imani!

This is a Kwanzaa Greeting - on the last day of that festival and the first of a new year.

A good to time to send all of you beautiful families the best of love - to your wishes and wants for the year ahead.

The first part of the Kwanzaa greeting, 'Habari Gani', means in Swahili,  'What is the news?', the second 'Imani' is a call back to the principle of the day, which is Imani or 'faith' - today.

In this spirit, I would also wish that you can hold fast to your own inner faith for  guidance in all times - and that it sees you through in the ways that you want and imagine.

Wishing also that we are able to move ahead in faith, with courage to do what serves us, our families and communities and the world in 2022.

You can Find out more about Kwanzaa here if you would like.
As you may know, it is a festival that was created as an Afri-centric 'alternative' to Christmas - but many who observe it will often celebrate both - and more these days.

Once again
Habari Gani

Kwanzaa candles and list of principles. (from learning to give website)

Hope you have been able to enjoy each other over the holidays, through all the festivals of Light - and that you continue to do so into a Happier New Year.

Love and Best Wishes

There is a prize for the winning choice. So if you have ideas about what the App might be called...
